A Hollywood film funded by small British investors will appear on UK screens tomorrow.
Gun Shy, starring Mask Of Zorro actor Antonio Banderas and Bond girl Olga Kurylenko, raised £1.8 million via website SyndicateRoom.
It is thought to be the first Hollywood movie backed by ‘equity’ crowdfunding, where investors buy stakes rather than lend or donate money.

The action-comedy is directed by Simon West, whose credits include Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
The film was released in American cinemas in September and goes on sale globally tomorrow on streaming websites including Sky, Amazon, iTunes and Google.
Bond girl Olga Kurylenko, pictured, also stars in Gun Shy, thought to be the first Hollywood movie backed by ‘equity’ crowdfunding
It tells the story of an ageing rock star’s supermodel wife who is kidnapped while on holiday. About 170 UK investors backed the project, produced by Harry Stourton and Jib Polhemus.
The funding was raised in five months in 2014, thanks in part to social media posts by TV stars Jeremy Clarkson and Russell Brand.
West told The Mail on Sunday: ‘I’d like to do it again. I think it would be much easier because we have proved how well the model works.’
